A masterplan proposal for Jamaica Bay, PIMPLE / DIMPLE is an innovative constructed topography that accommodates natural processes and change over time. It facilitates a landscape for human engagement within ecological diversity.
PIMPLE / DIMPLE addresses the most significant threats to Gateway: rising sea level, loss of wetlands, harmful ecological succession, and environmental pollution. Its density relates to the city as well as the layered complexities of the park. With Floyd Bennett Field as a model, PIMPLE / DIMPLE is deployable for specific conditions and locations throughout the park. Specific Pimple/Dimple Types are located as required by local conditions for ecology management, stormwater management, and waste management, respectively.
